To Love Ru

After fixing up the original scan to remove a little text and redraw some parts, I mixed a few paper textures I scanned to create a beach like texture backdrop. With my base in place, I painted over it with speckle brushes I made to give areas a more sandy look than others. Finally I did a little ocean wave in the corner, by using a scan from the Sky Girls series that had a similar set-up. I angled them because, had they stayed the original long-wise it wouldn't have transfered as nicely to different resolutions. Check out the original scan on AnimePaper.

This wallpaper bugs me because the end result looks like I didn't do much, but so much work went into it! After redrawing the missing parts of the character from the original scan I had to completely re-create the sheets underneath, making up for parts that weren't there because there were two girls in the original picture. I also drew in pillows so it would be more full and shaded and shadowed the background so it would better go with the scan. I finished off with a Gaussian dreamy bedroom look ;D
