[Dragonaut - the Resonance] 06.01.08

I've literally had this wallpaper finished for forever. I don't know when it happened, but I kept thinking, "Well, no one likes Dragonaut, so why bother?" But then I realized, no one likes half the shows I wall :D But pretty pictures are pretty pictures. I've actually really noticed that older series have a greater longevity than the stuff that's aired in recent years. There are exceptions, one being Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Which reminds me, the TTGL Nia Portraits is up for pre-order. I've ordered, so expect some walls from it! And more from other things you've never heard of as well XD

[To Love Ru, Thanks for Everything... ] 05.22.08

Long time no anything! :D I got sidetracked with some moving, and then just demotivated to wall. But all that aside, I'm back at it. And look, wishes can come true! They're finally making a Gurren Lagann Nia Portraits collection!

Today's update has nothing to do with Gurren Lagann though, which is a shame. Instead, it's the shameless-ly fanservice oriented To Love Ru! While this wallpaper may look like it came that way, a lot of work went into giving it that anime style background, as I drew in the sheets, pillows, and completely re-Cg'ed the lovely Lala. Just check out that "come hither" stare! XD

[Soul Eating Beach Buddies!] 03.16.08

Sometimes, I'm just overwhelmed by the massive amounts of awesome images coming out each month and the small number of things I actually manage to wall :D But I wanted to be way ahead of the curve on this one, so I decided to wall this awesome Soul Eater image, that came with April's Animedia Magazine School Calendar. Nice calendar too, with a Halloween themed Gundam 00 picture and a Christmas one with the xxxHOLiC cast. So even though I haven't seen Soul Eater yet, it's probably the one show I'm most curious about due to the design style. Interestingly enough, Soul Eater has the same character designer as Fullmetal Alchemist. I did change a little from the original though, one of Kidd's girls was moved over so it would work better as a desktop. Soul Eater starts April 7th :3

[True Tears Fall] 02.21.08

The winter anime season always feels a bit slow, but there a few shows I've been following, one of which is True Tears! The characters really have personality, which is saying something for one of these shows based on romantic visual novel. The background for this wallpaper was made from scratch, but it was based on the background in the original scan. The wallpaper features the leading ladies altogether, on a leafy fall background, like from the opening. But it's good for any season ;D

And some more from the Yoko Portraits art book. This piece was illustrated by Shouko Nakamura, who was the animation director for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann episodes 10 and 17. Maybe, if you went back and watched episodes with this on your desktop, you could better notice the artist's influence ;D I chose this one to be the next re-coloring job because it was so vivid and bright, and the good nurse/bad nurse theme isn't too bad either. I've finished a bunch of wallpapers recently (and not all Gurren Lagann!) so I'll be updating a bit more often over the next few weeks ^^
